Description

The Warehouse Operative will work a permanent 2pm–10pm shift and play an active role in supporting operations within the GMP Warehouse at the CGT Catapult Stevenage Manufacturing Innovation Centre (S-MIC). Reporting to the Warehouse Team Leader, the postholder will serve as a key point of contact between CGT Catapult and its Collaborator cohort. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with individuals from multiple organisations and varying levels of seniority.



Key Responsibilities

* Handle daily communication with key internal stakeholders and collaborators to ensure timely delivery of goods and services committed by the Warehouse
* Complete all Goods-In procedures according to schedule, including inspections and safe storage of incoming materials, such as patient samples
* Manage storage and dispatch of final products, completing all Goods-Out procedures in line with the schedule
* Move materials within the Warehouse using manual handling techniques and lifting equipment where available
* Operate Warehouse equipment and vehicles safely, in accordance with all health and safety procedures
* Perform regular and scheduled inventory checks in line with relevant SOPs
* Ensure the Warehouse and facilities are clean, safe, well maintained, and compliant with required standards
* Participate in regular overtime (including weekends and bank holidays) as required
Experience:
* Previous experience working in a GMP warehouse environment (essential)
* Experience working in an agile or fast-paced organisation
* Strong communication skills with customers or internal stakeholders (essential)
* Experience working in a highly regulated industry
* Proficient in using electronic inventory management systems for ordering, goods receipt, and distribution



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* Highly motivated, pragmatic and practical to support the mission of the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult to accelerate the development of a commercial cell and gene-based therapy industry in the UK
* Desire to grow and develop within the Cell and Gene Therapy sector
* High level communication (oral and written) skills with excellent attention to detail
* Ability to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust
* Proven ability to engage constructively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels across different departments
* Working knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Inventory/ERP platforms
* Resilient and able to manage multiple tasks, prioritising workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Able to work independently and take initiative when completing tasks
* Comfortable working autonomously once goals and objectives are defined
* Flexible and open to varied work assignments and new learning opportunities
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations and experience working with liquid nitrogen
* Role involves manual handling; applicants must be able to undertake these activities with appropriate support or adjustments as necessary
* The ability to operate Pallet trucks, forklift trucks and other lifting equipment

Education / Qualifications:
* Educated up to at least A level (or equivalent)
* Minimum GCSE passes in English and Math's
* Forklift Truck license (desirable)
