Grafton Banks Finance is recruiting for a growing practice that has already a great reputation and a strong base of clients across a broad spectrum of business. They are expanding their practice by appointing a Client Manager to provide accountancy support to the Director and professional accountancy service to clients as well as support to other team members. The role is a varied one and would suit an ACCA qualified accountant with prior experience within a similar practice. There will be occasions where the role will diversify to meet the expectations of clients, in the absence of other members of staff and the successful applicant must be able to display a can-do approach to work and an ability to provide skills to tasks as necessary, as all members of the team do as a reciprocal arrangement.


Day to day work involves:

Applied working knowledge on a variety of systems: Xero, QuickBooks and Sage for review stages.

Review and submission of VAT returns.

Applied working knowledge of payroll and CIS.

Preparing accounts and management information for Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships.

Computing taxes owed and prepare Corporation tax returns and Self-Assessment tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.

Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard in terms of timeliness and technical competence.

File data and perform other routine administration tasks as requested by your line manager. This includes maintaining files, answering the phone, processing the company post at the beginning and end of the day to meet set deadlines.

Communicate and liaise verbally and in writing with clients.

Interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal and written instruction from Internal/external customers and management

Take full responsibility of all assignments from start to finish. Except Audits where full responsibility lies with the audit partner.

Keep line manager informed of progress on jobs.

Use skills to resolve problems and issues arising and implement actions according to the company administrative policies and procedures. Seek advice from the line manager if required.

Adhere to all company policy and procedures. This includes Health & Safety, money laundering and GDPR.

Undertake all general administration work within the company office or other areas as required by your line manager.

Attend courses to ensure technical knowledge is maintained and that CPD is complied with.


Additional knowledge, skills and experience required

* Qualified ACCA, ACA
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Dependable and reliable team player
* Professional manner and appearance at all times.
* Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
* Managing Processes and good organisation skills to minimise time spent on administration
* Strong written and spoken communication skills
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Skills
