SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1 | Full-Time | Long-Term | Blackpool Start Date: January 2026 Location: Primary School in Blackpool Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Blackpool to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 1 with physical disabilities. This is a long-term role starting in January, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The Role: You will be working 1:1 with a child who requires physical support and tailored learning strategies to access the curriculum. Your role will involve: Supporting mobility and physical needs throughout the school day Assisting with personal care when required Adapting learning materials to suit the child’s needs Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: Patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs Experienced in working with children with physical disabilities (desirable but not essential) Knowledgeable about SEN strategies and inclusive practices Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently Committed to making a positive impact on a child’s educational journey Qualifications & Experience: TA qualification or recent experience Experience in a school or care setting supporting children with SEN Manual handling or moving and handling training is advantageous What Teaching Personnel Offers: A dedicated consultant to support your placement Access to CPD courses and training opportunities Competitive pay rates and weekly pay Opportunities for career progression within SEN education Interested?
