The Role
As Civils Operative you will ensure the completion of designated tasks on site under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, ensuring the works are completed without harm to people, the environment and targeting zero defects. Day to day duties and responsibilities will typically include but not be limited to:
* Operate and carry out job set tasks.
* Ensure you have been briefed and understand all relevant risk and method statements.
* Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out. Check on any equipment that may be used.
* Ensure a safe, tidy place of work.
* Ensure the completion of works is on time.
* Implement best practice procedures.
* Maximise use of own working time.
* Ensure signed up to all permits and briefings before commencing any work.
* Communicate with site management.
* Communicate with site supervisor on any concerns.
* Provide feedback to site management with near-miss reporting.
* Attend all site briefings and forums.
* Other tasks as may from time to time be deemed necessary and are authorised by line managers.
Candidate Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Experienced Operative with experience of civil ground works (Drainage, Kerbing, Brick work, Road Formation, etc.).
* Valid PTS certification
* CSCS
* CPCS
* Demonstrable experience and competencies relevant to the rail industry
* A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in civil engineering
