An exciting opportunity to join our Award-winning Emergency Department as an Emergency Care Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Our new Emergency Department offers a bespoke ergonomic space to deliver excellent, evidence-based emergency care.
We are part of the South East London Kent and Medway trauma Network (SELKAM) as a level 2 Trauma Unit, managing a variety of traumatic presentations and working closely with our trauma network, including pre-hospital teams and HEMS, to provide efficient patient care and excellent learning opportunities for staff.
As a Qualified Emergency Care Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you will utilize advanced clinical skills, leadership, and expert knowledge in clinical practice. Approximately 80% of your time will be spent working in the Emergency Department as part of an agreed job plan.
The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver safe and effective clinical practice, education, training, service development, and research or audit within the Emergency Care service. You will be accountable for independent clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment, using advanced practice skills within an agreed scope of practice. This includes comprehensive assessment of patients with undifferentiated emergency, critical, acute, and traumatic presentations, developing working diagnoses and treatment plans without direct supervision.
You will also utilize management and leadership skills to improve nursing practice and the quality of patient care, aligning with national guidance and policies for emergency care. The post holder will support and advise MDT colleagues and other professionals, advocating for the Trust’s Emergency Care service.
