Salary on appointment will be £38,784 per annum with an annual increment up to £46,049 per annum pro rata.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join the School of History and Art History to undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and contribute to the teaching, assessment and module organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Responsibilities
* Plan, teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as taking responsibility for the delivery and assessment of the Modern History module Propaganda.
* Undertake research that complements existing strengths and contributes to the School’s research strategy.
Qualifications
* PhD (or equivalent) in Modern History with experience of undergraduate teaching and student assessment is essential.
* Track record of high-quality publications and research with potential for impact beyond academia; experience of enterprise and engagement projects and evidence of external grant income would be advantageous.
Contract and timing
* Part-time (0.6 FTE) post with a regular on-campus presence during term time, available from 1 December 2025 on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2026.
* Teaching duties clustered in the spring semester starting 26 January 2026.
