Engineering Manager Job Description
As the Engineering Manager, your tasks will include:
1. Accountable for the engineering workstream on the project, leading the engineering team with internal and external members, including managing deliverables from external engineering contractors.
2. Coordinating the design development of the project throughout its phases, setting design requirements for engineers, and monitoring quality to match the project phase.
3. Supporting and aligning closely with the Project Manager and PMA to assist and provide information to stakeholders.
4. Preparing project phase-dependent documents such as terms of reference, tenders for design consultants, etc.
5. Preparing cost estimates.
6. Participating in project meetings, negotiations, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
7. Ensuring quality assurance and quality control during planning, tendering, construction, commissioning, and operation phases.
8. Preparing meeting reports and presentations.
9. Staying updated on project developments and technological market trends.
10. Reporting to the Project Manager within the project and to the Manager of Engineering Management in the Engineering Department.
11. Building and motivating engineering teams using strong interpersonal skills.
Your Profile
* Degree in process, mechanical, electrical, or power plant engineering, with experience in planning and project management.
* Experience in district heating and combined heat and power plants is advantageous.
* Knowledge of heat generation processes and their interface with district heating networks.
* Leadership qualities and excellent analytical skills.
* Strong focus on safety and safety in design.
* Experience in scheduling and engineering processes.
* Teamwork experience, including cultural sensitivity.
* Knowledge of UK standards and regulations.
* Experience working on interdisciplinary topics and with other departments.
* Experience in governance-heavy environments and complex projects, such as working within an Energy Services Company (ESCO).
* Calm demeanor in demanding environments and a solution-oriented approach.
This role involves frequent site and office visits, with opportunities for remote work when not traveling.
