Promotions get talked about a lot. Actually getting one is rarer.
The timing here is unusually good. There’s no queue ahead of you, no politics to navigate, and no vague “let’s see how it goes” promises. This region needs leadership, and you’re close enough to the board from day one to influence real decisions.
You’ll work directly with a National Director of Safety. Far from gatekeeping progression, he’s suggesting a proper roadmap to management for you if you worked here. Forget Associate, in 12 - 18 months you’ll be the head of the Midlands & South for a 200 employee business.
You won’t be left to sink or swim. There’s a strong CDM network behind you nationwide and loads of accounts and projects for you to slowly take on. You’ll have autonomy, but never isolation.
The working setup is refreshingly grown-up. Most people work from home around three days a week. Some days you’ll be on site, some in the office, most fully remote. But no one’s counting desk days, outcomes matter more.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll act as Principal Designer under CDM 2015, advising clients and design teams on their duties, managing design risk, reviewing information, preparing pre-construction information and health & safety files, and carrying out site inspections where needed. You’ll also conduct Fire risk assessments where applicable.
As time goes on and you develop and team you’ll mentor other consultants and help shape regional CDM best practice.
What you’ll Need
* You’ll need solid CDM PD experience
* Confidence in client-facing situations
* NEBOSH and/or APS accreditation.
* Experience and knowledge of Fire Risk in smaller buildings.
