Green Light (GL@GP) is an independent employee‑owned group that provides GP Practice Pharmacist services, community pharmacy, education & training, and consultancy. The team is led by pharmacist Sharon Hart, with extensive experience in pharmacy, leadership, training and change management.
Job Description
Post holder is an experienced general practice pharmacist who works within a multi‑disciplinary team, supported by practice GPs and GL@GP leadership. Responsibilities include:
* Structured medication reviews and chronic disease management.
* Medicines optimisation, quality improvement and the Quality and Outcomes Framework.
* Leading, training and coordinating less experienced pharmacy professionals.
* Managing repeat prescribing systems, acute prescription requests and medicines reconciliation on transfer of care.
* Providing clinical medicines advice and supporting staff with prescription queries.
* Integrating community and hospital pharmacy to improve patient outcomes and GP workload.
* Service development, risk stratification, signposting and public health activities.
* Managing medicines safety and quality improvement projects.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential)
* Minimum 5 years post‑registration experience with at least 2 years in general practice.
* Certificate in non‑medical prescribing.
* Practical experience using prescribing qualification in general practice.
* Evidence of further education in clinical pharmacy (e.g. NHS Pathway training or Clinical Pharmacy Diploma).
* Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Qualifications & Experience (Desirable)
* Leadership qualification.
* Education & training qualification.
* Experience across multiple pharmacy settings.
* Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Person Specification
* Masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent.
* Clinical Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent training (NHS Pathway training).
* Experience as a full‑time practice‑based pharmacist for more than 2 years.
* Teaching, training, clinical supervision, mentoring and coaching experience.
* Leadership of other healthcare professionals, especially pharmacists.
* Management of self and others to achieve goals and targets.
Other Requirements
* Unable to employ anyone on a TIER 2 visa.
* Mandatory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
* Current UK professional registration.
Contract & Salary
Permanent, full‑time. Salary depends on experience.
