Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Operations Engineer to lead the management, maintenance, and optimization of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, cloud technologies, and automation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain Windows servers, both on-premises and cloud-based.
* Oversee Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and other core infrastructure services, including M365 authentication.
* Administer virtualization platforms (e.g. Hyper-V, AWS).
* Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
* Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam or Barracuda.
* Manage and support clustered environments for high availability and scalability.
* Deploy and manage devices and applications using Microsoft Intune.
* Lead patch management and vulnerability remediation efforts.
* Collaborate with security teams to enforce best practices and compliance.
* Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell Bash, or Python).
* Provide Tier 3 support and mentorship to junior IT staff.
* Securing systems, networks and individual computers based on requirements and ISO27001:2022 standards.
* Participate in infrastructure projects, upgrades, on-call rota and migrations.
Required Experience & Skills:
Technical Experience:
* 7+ years of hands-on experience in managing Windows Server environments and End User Windows environment of 500+ nodes.
* M365 environment including Intune.
* Experience with Fortinet Products suite (FortiClient and EMS).
* Experience with Atlassian Products (Jira Helpdesk and Projects).
* Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
* Working Knowledge of Linux.
* Proficiency in virtualization technologies (Hyper-V).
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
* Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Soft Skills:
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and documentation abilities.
* Ability to work independently and lead initiatives.
* Proven experience in mentoring or leading junior staff.
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
* Experience in ITIL-based environments.
