* Oversee the actions of junior staff undertaking similar tasks and take responsibility for their actions
* Take responsibility for the commercial success of projects within their portfolio, controlling budgets and managing costs associated with the production of deliverables
* Liaise with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attend progress meetings, respond to queries, etc.
* Contribute to the preparation of bids and the general work-winning function
* Drive effective health and safety practices within the team

What You Will Bring To Us

* Developed drainage design experience and expertise within the Highways Civil Engineering field, gained in an Engineer role or equivalent
* Able to produce technically sound engineering solutions including highways drainage, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising junior staff undertaking similar tasks
* Experience in project-related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare management (e.g., Amey’s Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations)
* Capable of acting as Engineering Design Lead for larger projects when required
* Very good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools, in particular Causeway Flow
* Demonstrates good commercial awareness
* Strong understanding of CDM and risk assessment; experienced in managing and communicating hazards and risks on projects with appropriate risk mitigation and transference; can act as Principal Designer for appropriate projects
