The Chief Data Office (CDO) is an integral part of the wider Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) directorate. �Together we play a fundamental part in helping to shape the future of the NCA. �
This is a really exciting time to join our team as the NCA expands into new technologies to enhance its data exploitation capabilities, and enables a more data driven approach to protecting the public from serious and organised crime. Successful candidates will help to ensure that these techniques stand up to scrutiny and comply with legislative standards.
Job description
Our roles co-ordinate and deliver efficient information and data tasks that are required to take place across the agency to ensure information management compliance. Successful candidates will support our teams, helping us to manage the NCA corporate record and information holdings, whilst ensuring the agency can confidently identify, discharge and comply with its legal information management responsibilities.�

Responsibilities:
1. Lead the delivery of an efficient advice service to all levels of the Agency in relation to Policy, Procedural and Operational matters to ensure compliance with all relevant Data Protection Legislation.
2. Develop and build internal and external stakeholders specifically across Government and Policing partners working collaboratively to foster good relations.
3. Provide best practice support and guidance for all Agency Data Protection related education and awareness activity. Foster a proactive culture towards Data Protection within the Agency.
4. Oversee the delivery and completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA�s) including supplier due diligence and review of third party contracts, including those involving international data transfers.�
5. Provide advice and guidance on the statutory requirements of relevant data protection legislation to be included in contracts and data sharing agreements.�
6. Work alongside internal stakeholders to effectively manage all Data Protection incidents and breaches. Leading the investigation into each case reported.�
7. To act as one of two Deputy Data Protection Officers, providing �guidance specifically in your �area of main responsibility but also across the wider Chief Data Office.�
8. Manage issues relating to the performance and conduct of Officers in line with Agency values and policy.

11. Substantial experience of managing a data protection function within a large organisation or law enforcement body.
12. Understanding how new and emerging technologies impact data protection. To identify risks and opportunities within a Law Enforcement setting.
13. Experience of building and managing effective working relationships with internal and external partners within Information Management, to the benefit of an organisation.
14. Experience of educating, supporting, and building the capability of staff ensuring EDI is part of the organisations way of working, fostering a culture of trust which enables people to speak up, feel safe, and advocate for others.

Alongside your salary of �61,675, National Crime Agency contributes �16,652 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
All officers in the NCA are members of the UK Civil Service. You will be eligible for:
