BORDERS GENERAL HOSPITAL – MEDICAL SECRETARIAL TEAM
BAND 3: £28,011 - £30,230 pro rata
FIXED TERM 25 HOURS/WEEK FOR ONE YEAR
Provide a comprehensive, confidential, efficient, and high‑quality secretarial service to Medical Staff within the Medical Secretarial Team. Undertake a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties. Transcribe confidential patient information using a voice recognition system, in conjunction with other hospital systems.
As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay is not affected.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If assessed as a "regulated role", the appointment will be subject to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Any change to current requirements will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team.
To work in the United Kingdom, proof of right to work is required, which may be demonstrated through a visa or EU settled status. NHS Scotland Boards will verify entitlement to work in the UK during pre‑employment checks.
