Walker Group provides advanced high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We are seeking skilled CNC Engineers with 4-axis Horizontal or 5-axis Milling experience to join our machining team in our Glasgow facility. As CNC Engineer, you will produce precision components through application of milling skills to meet customer expectations, productivity and OTD targets and contribution to the creation of work plans. You will support the Manufacturing Leads as required to support delivery of group goals and objectives. CNC Engineer Key Responsibilities: Set up, program, and operate CNC 4-axis horizontal or 5-axis milling machines to produce high-precision components. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production. Monitor machine performance, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure their optimal functioning. Inspect finished products to meet the required quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues to minimize downtime. Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes. Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to safety regulations and company policies CNC Engineer Skills & Behaviours: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues. A strong work ethic and a desire to continuously improve skills and knowledge in CNC machining. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. CNC Engineer Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Proven experience in CNC machining, specifically with 4-axis horizontal or 5-axis Milling machines as time-served engineer or with relevant technical qualifications. Experience of working to high quality standards on precision components. Proficiency in machine programming and operation. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of machine maintenance and care. Demonstratable examples of dexterity. Ability to proficiently use hand tools. Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S process desirable. Specific knowledge of setting, operation and program editing of the following machinery is highly desirable. What’s in it for you?
