SEND Teaching Assistant - Autism Specialist (Primary School) Location: Weston‑super‑Mare Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-time | Long-term | Term Time Only Monarch Education is supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in Weston‑super‑Mare, seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. The school provides a nurturing, structured environment for children with Autism and additional learning needs, and is committed to helping every pupil grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This role would also suit a support worker, sports coach or recent sports graduate with an interest in working within education. What You'll Be Doing: Supporting primary-aged pupils with Autism to stay engaged and participate in learning. Providing 1:1 and small‑group support tailored to individual needs. Assisting with sensory activities, structured routines, and emotional regulation. Working closely with class teachers to support lesson delivery and classroom organisation. Encouraging independence, confidence, and celebrating progress-big or small. What We're Looking For: Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly Autism. A caring, proactive, and reliable individual who enjoys helping children succeed. Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude. Any relevant training (e.g., Autism Awareness, Team Teach) is beneficial but not essential. Important Information: All pay rates provided are inclusive of rolled up holiday pay.
