Are you looking for a new and challenging role providing welding engineer support to a range of different industries and companies? If so, TWI is currently seeking highly motivated applicants to support its industrial members meet their ever‑changing challenges. The work will include office‑based consultancy support and welding reviews, short‑notice requests for site support, process development and validation activities through to opportunities to work on research topics related to materials performance and robotic welding, including additive manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Provide office‑based consultancy support and welding reviews.
* Respond to short‑notice requests for site support.
* Lead process development and validation activities.
* Collaborate on research topics related to materials performance and robotic welding, including additive manufacturing.
* Propose, manage and deliver projects for international customers.
* Support day‑to‑day customer enquiries and build trusting relationships with customers.
* Work closely with engineering and technical support colleagues to meet customer expectations.
* Contribute to business development through effective communication (written, verbal & IT).
Qualifications
* EWF/IIW Welding Diploma at Engineer level and a degree level qualification.
* Significant demonstrable experience in welding engineering and vocational qualifications, making you a Certified Welding Engineer.
* Ability to understand and assess technical problems to generate solutions through process knowledge, experimental trials and process development.
* Excellent planning and organisation skills applicable to scoping, launch and delivery of projects to time, cost and quality targets.
Knowledge and Experience
* Arc welding process deployment.
* Arc welding implementation in industry (including support of new processes and users).
* Codes and Standards (e.g., ASME, EN ISO, API).
* Weld inspection and testing.
* Welding procedure specification, qualification and coordination.
Security Clearance
This role will require a level of security clearance checks. British nationals with the ability to attain security clearance will be able to engage with some of our customers in greater application‑specific detail, allowing greater impact in the role; this is a desirable attribute.
