We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Band 7 Advanced Practice Physiotherapist to join our innovative multidisciplinary team in a split-role position across the Minor Injuries Unit University Hospital Wishaw (MIU) and the Flow Navigation Centre (FNC). This is a full-time post with compressed hours, with rotas covering a 7 day service, however part time hours can be considered.
About the Role
In the Minor Injuries Unit, you will provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries. You’ll be a key clinical decision-maker, supported by advanced diagnostics and robust referral pathways.
At the Flow Navigation Centre, you’ll work alongside a network of senior clinicians and use your advanced clinical reasoning skills to triage and manage MSK patient referrals from NHS24, GPs, and other healthcare providers. Your role will directly influence how patients are streamed to the most appropriate care, whether that’s face-to-face in urgent care, primary care services, or supported self-management at home.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence based practice and quality assurance in service area in conjunction with the care group lead.
The post holder will implement research, audit and contribute to a service that responds to national initiatives, policies and clinical governance.
What We’re Looking For
1. An HCPC-registered physiotherapist with extensive musculoskeletal experience
2. Proven clinical leadership with postgraduate qualifications in advanced practice or equivalent
3. Highly developed skills in autonomous assessment, diagnostics, and decision-making
4. A commitment to service improvement, patient-centred care, and collaborative working

What we'll need you to bring
Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative
Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
Working knowledge of basic information technology
