Dalkia Engineering - Project Manager
We are a leading provider of M&E engineering solutions across the UK, delivering complex projects within healthcare, nuclear, defence, government, leisure, industrial and infrastructure sectors. As part of our continued Southern expansion into the South West region, this role will play a key part in strengthening our presence and supporting the delivery of major projects, under the guidance of our Regional Managing Director, Colin Brunton.
We are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead construction‑focused projects, ensuring safe, high‑quality and commercially successful delivery across a growing portfolio.
What you’ll do
* Take full responsibility for pre‑construction planning, project implementation and successful completion of construction programmes.
* Monitor project delivery, identifying risks and opportunities and working with stakeholders to optimise outcomes.
* Review and challenge design proposals to ensure buildability and timely delivery.
* Lead construction activities, ensuring compliance with company processes, standards and governance.
* Manage and develop engineering and supervisory teams, fostering strong collaboration across disciplines.
* Oversee project budgets, cost performance and commercial controls.
* Drive Health, Safety & Environmental performance, leading investigations, reviews and improvement actions.
* Ensure adequate resources are allocated and aligned with programme requirements.
* Lead a Right‑First‑Time approach, ensuring quality, documentation and handover standards are met.
* Set and monitor KPIs, track progress and manage subcontractor performance.
* Produce operational programmes aligned with overall project schedules.
* Share best practice across teams and support continuous improvement.
* Support talent development, training and succession planning within project teams.
* Oversee procurement of subcontractors and advise on commercial and operational risks.
* Provide technical input to support work winning and early project engagement.
* Build strong working relationships and act as a trusted leader across internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll bring
* Strong project management experience within civil, construction or M&E‑related environments.
* Practical understanding of construction and building services disciplines.
* Experience delivering projects within regulated or complex sectors.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop teams.
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, cost plans and value performance.
* Experience managing subcontractors, phasing, contingency planning and handover processes.
* CSCS card and SMSTS qualification.
* HNC/NVQ in Civil Engineering or Project Management qualifications (desirable).
* Proven ability to build credibility, influence stakeholders and drive high‑performance delivery.
