We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager for my client based in Blackburn on a permanent basis. As an Operations Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing financial and contractual aspects, ensuring the smooth operation of projects, business development & H&S. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their needs, assist in negotiate agreements, and foster strong, long-term relationships that drive success. Responsibilities * You'll be advising and supporting the Sales & Marketing team on cost and value reporting, ensuring required changes are implemented to meet profit targets. * Prepare, develop and implement commercial strategies for pre and post tender * Ensure appropriate Leading, mentoring, and managing support teams. * You'll be ensuring compliance and Client processes to minimise WIP (outstanding cash) and maintain targets within contract and business thresholds. * Assisting in the preparation of Contract Budget Forecasts, including reviewing margin improvement plans to maximise profitability. * Financial and commercial control including the production of profit and loss, cash flow, KPI, CVR and Cost to Complete statements. * Conducting risk analyses to identify, manage, and mitigate contract risks. * Determination of the scope of work and contractual obligations delivering the work. through the interpretation of contract documents. * Accountable for contract compliance and performance. * Prepare and implement contract management processes and procedures. * Can coherently explain contract conditions that identify variations to contracts. * Overseeing the procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers to align with Business Director strategies, ensuring adherence to internal governance protocols. * Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, landlord and building managers. * Manage contract and price negotiations. * Providing workstream level input into cash flow and aged debt reporting. * Implementing new processes as directed by the Managing Director, while identifying and addressing risks in existing processes regarding compliance and suitability. * Take control of internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with health & safety, statutory, and contractual obligations. Requirements * Effective communication, negotiation and Presentation skills. * Knowledge of work activities undertaken - Administrative and Operational. * An understanding of all relevant statutory, regulatory and company policies and guidelines. * The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement, and influence change. * Client focus. * Relevant Hons Degree level qualification or equivalent. * Proven experience in a Facilities/Commercial Manager role, ideally in an industrial or Manufacturing sector environment. * Strong knowledge of hard and soft FM services, including statutory compliance and H&S regulations. * IOSH/NEBOSH certification desirable. * Excellent communication, leadership, and contractor management skills.
