We’re looking for an IT Operations Manager to take ownership of live service delivery across a complex, business‑critical technology estate. This is a hands‑on role where the IT Operations Manager is accountable for the day‑to‑day running of services across applications and IT infrastructure while operationally leading 15+ 3rd Line Engineers.
You’ll sit at the center of the operation, working across engineering, support, and third‑party suppliers to keep services running smoothly while driving continuous improvement through strong ITIL practices. You will ideally be ITIL V4 Certified however the client is will to put people through training.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an IT Operations Manager who is confident owning services day‑to‑day and thrives in a live operational environment.
- You’ve run teams and IT services end‑to‑end, across applications and infrastructure, and understand what it takes to keep things stable.
- You’ll be technically sound with strong understanding of on‑prem infrastructure technology along with Azure/AWS
- Experience working in regulated or secure environments – Central Government or Public Sector experience would be highly desirable.
- Exposure to Cloud, SaaS or hybrid platforms
- You’ll be improving or implementing ITSM tooling and processes
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning BAU service operations across applications and infrastructure
- Leading incident, problem, and change management in line with ITIL
- Embedding and improving ITIL processes across service delivery->
- Acting as the escalation point for high‑severity incidents
- Managing service performance (SLAs, KPIs, availability) and driving improvements
- Coordinating internal teams and external suppliers
- Working closely with stakeholders to provide clear service reporting
