Our optometrist position in Yeovil is a fantastic opportunity to work in a clinically focused, quality-driven practice. You would work within a collaborative team of optometrists with a number of special interests. The team includes four IP qualified optometrists, a glaucoma diploma, a specialist contact lens fitter, two trained orthoptists and a dyslexia specialist. The practice supports optometrists developing their special interests, including support for higher qualifications, and we actively encourage staff to spend part of the week in hospital work. Three of our optometrists also work within hospital ophthalmology departments, handling glaucoma, casualty, paediatric refraction and orthoptics clinics.
The practice is spacious and air-conditioned, extensively equipped including Optomap retinal imaging, the latest Humphrey VFA and Heidelberg OCT. The group’s main practice is in Yeovil, with another practice in Chard refurbished in 2019. Both practices have well-trained, welcoming support staff including five dispensing opticians. The role will involve working between the two practices.
As an independent practice, we provide clinical freedom, generous test-times for comprehensive professional care, and equipment to solve problems and genuinely help people.
Our patients are loyal, returning year after year, which means you’ll have the opportunity to see real continuity of care. You’ll be an integral part of our team and will help drive our service offering forward, always looking for opportunities to improve and innovate.
We are ideally looking to fill four or five days a week, including alternate Saturdays; however, if you are available for a part-time position we would be very keen to discuss your requirements.
