Modality LLP is a large-scale provider of NHS Outpatient Services, renowned for its innovative approach to delivering efficient pathways for patients requiring specialist care, leading to high quality patient outcomes. We work in partnership with a number of hospitals across the country to collaboratively redesign outpatient services with more care being delivered in community settings.

As we continue to expand our portfolio by delivering day case surgical procedures, we are looking for experienced Theatre Nurses to support the delivery of surgical procedures across a range of specialties including; ENT, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmology and Gynaecology. We are seeking dedicated postholders to join our team and who can display our CARE values: Commitment, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Salary for this role is £17.00 per hour, £34,000 per annum WTE.

This job is suitable for individuals have a passion for working in an agile manner ensuring a high-quality service is provided. The postholder(s) will be committed to undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, within the bounds of their own competence.

Main duties of the job

Youll work in multiple sites operating theatres and anaesthetic/recovery areas. You may also be involved with procedures on wards, clinics or in other specialist areas. Youll work as part of a large team that will include surgeons, anaesthetists, operating department practitioner (ODPs) and theatre support workers.

* Over 15 years of experience of delivering community outpatient services
* Contracts with ICBs and hospital providers
* A diverse clinical workforce of consultants, GPs with extended roles, specialist nurses and allied health professionals
* Delivery of over 150,000 patient consultations per year
* Delivery of 1st consultations within a maximum of 4 weeks from referral from a choice of community locations, 7 days per week

Person Specification


Experience

* Ability to demonstrate professional and clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with the post
* Able to work under own initiative within boundaries of role
* Demonstrates awareness of importance of working as part of a team.
* Able to document observations, results, decisions and actions effectively in patients notes and communicate these effectively to appropriate members of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Able to proactively contribute to the education of learners and non-registered and less experienced staff
* Able to effectively and appropriately escalate concerns to reduce risk and promote patient safety


Qualifications

* Qualified Adult Nurse/RGN
* Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in a similar environment


Skills

* An excellent communicator who is able to accurately relay relevant information to other members of the multidisciplinary team
* Proactive and able to anticipate care requirements
* Logical and systematic in approach
* Able to remain calm under pressure, particularly when exposed to a range of traumatic injuries
* Ability to carry out assessments requiring intense and prolonged concentration
* Highly professional standards
* Ability to work with all members of a multi-professional team
* Willingness to work flexibly as the needs of the service dictate
* Able to undertake specific procedures involving physical skills commensurate with practice area
* Able to drive
