Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our team performing the duties described in the job description. We are looking for a candidate able to work four full set days a week (hours and days tbc).

Job responsibilities
Clinical Duties
* Undertake clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, urinalysis, and long-term condition monitoring and checks
* Conduct NHS Health Checks and assist with chronic disease monitoring.
* Support vaccination and immunisation programmes as required.
* Prepare and maintain clinical rooms and equipment.
* Ensure infection control procedures are followed at all times.
* Apply dressings as per care plan or as instructed by GPs or practice nurses
* Assisting doctors with minor surgical and IUD/IUCD procedures.
* Chaperoning when required

* Assisting doctors with minor surgical and IUD/IUCD procedures.
* Chaperoning when required
Administrative and Organisational Duties
* Accurately record patient information and procedures using the clinical system (Emis)
* Manage stock levels and inform appropriate staff of any shortages.
* Ensure specimens are correctly labelled and handled, ready for transportation.
* Support recall and follow-up processes for health screening or chronic disease management.
Teamwork
* Work effectively with all members of the clinical and non-clinical team.
* Attend team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to ongoing service improvements.
* Maintain a flexible approach to cover the needs of the practice
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a primary care or community setting
* Proficient in phlebotomy and other clinical procedures listed above
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Confident using computer systems and electronic medical records
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Committed to patient confidentiality and data protection
