Allen & York are thrilled to be working with a multidisciplinary consultancy, providing ecological, arboricultural, and landscape services to a variety of high-profile clients across a diverse range of sectors in the UK.
Our client is looking for an innovative and proactive Principal Ecologist to join the Ecology team. The successful candidate will deliver ecological advice to a range of clients as well as support, manage and develop the Ecology team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
* Deliver ecological advice to a range of clients
* Support, manage and develop the Ecology team
* Apply knowledge of ecology-related legislation and policy in a UK context to projects
* Contribute to multifaceted projects and collaborate with teams across disciplines
Qualifications
* Relevant degree in ecology
* Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
* Significant experience in a similar role with evidence of managing multifaceted projects and teams
* In-depth knowledge of ecology-related legislation and policy and practical application in the UK
* Extensive experience in ecological assessment and protected species surveys
* Solid understanding of protected species planning policies and strong species identification skills across taxonomic groups
* Excellent communication, self-motivation, organization, and ability to multi-task and collaborate
* Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
