Overview
For 75 years, Charles River employees have helped discover, develop and safely manufacture new drug therapies. This role is at our Tranent facility. We are a progressive and close-knit team, focused on the safety of new medicines and the welfare of animals, with training and support provided.
Role
This is a physically demanding role, and you need to be active and on your feet for most of the working day. You will perform routine and moderately complex animal husbandry and clinical observations in a regulatory compliant laboratory setting. A minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications is required.
* Husbandry duties / delivering essential care and well-being services to the animals
* Positive interaction with animals, including providing treats, fruits and vegetables
* Participating in animal training programmes
* Handling animals for procedures
* Performing physical environment cleanliness and upkeep and maintaining accurate records
* Documenting animal behaviours and activities
Qualifications and Requirements
Passion for working with animals and commitment to their welfare. A positive attitude with a good work ethic and reliable attendance is essential. Minimum of 4 Nat 5 or equivalent qualifications.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting pay £12.60 per hour (annual salary of £23,842), and a generous benefits package including an 8% employer pension contribution, volunteering and bonus opportunities.
