Facility Planning Engineer – Trim And Final Assembly
Location: Gaydon, England, United Kingdom (and other listed UK locations).
Role and Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers in the Trim and Final assembly area, providing guidance, support and mentorship.
* Develop and implement department strategy for power tooling (DC tools, Oil pulse tools) in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
* Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes for Trim and Final Assembly to meet quality standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules.
* Apply knowledge of Four Wheeler Trim and Final assembly and Vehicle Testing processes.
* Manage machine installations and commissioning across various phases and requirements.
* Identify cost-effective Poka Yoke solutions.
* Understand layout preparations, TAKT time calculations, throughput time, cycle time, and line balancing.
* Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimize product design for manufacturability and resolve manufacturing issues.
* Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and capacity planning to support new product introductions and process improvements.
* Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, identifying and mitigating risks in the manufacturing process.
* Evaluate and select equipment, tools, and technologies to optimize production capabilities and efficiency.
* Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and collaboration within the manufacturing engineering team.
* Support launches of Four Wheeler assembly, providing relevant process, tooling, and facilities.
* Apply knowledge of Capex planning and utilization.
Knowledge, Abilities & Experience
* Proven experience in the four-wheeler assembly industry facility planning with focus on Trim and Final assembly.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
* In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD/Catia/Pro E and manufacturing tools.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in the automotive industry.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
* Results-oriented mindset with a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
