Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Burnley (1 day from home)
Salary: £70,000-£80,000 + benefits

Sowena Group are exclusively recruiting for a commercially astute Financial Controller.
Reporting to an exceptional CFO, this role will play a pivotal part in shaping and leading the finance function. You’ll lead a capable finance team, bring commercial insight, and provide the financial leadership needed to support growth and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the finance function, managing and developing the finance team
* Take ownership of financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and share actionable insight for senior management and stakeholders
* Drive budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning to support strategic growth and profitability initiatives
* Analyse and optimise stock, WIP and working capital to improve efficiency and cash flow
* Develop and monitor key financial and operational KPIs, providing insight to drive performance across the business
* Provide commercial insight to influence pricing, product profitability and operational decision making
* Maintain strong internal controls, compliance and governance across all financial processes
* Oversee cash flow, treasury and liquidity management to support growth
* Partner with the CFO and leadership team to implement strategic initiatives and deliver performance targets
* Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and efficiency across the business
* Collaborate cross functionally to ensure financial alignment with business objectives
About You
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
* Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards and financial regulations
* High attention to detail
* Demonstratable experience in a senior finance role with team management responsibility
* Experience in PE backed or fast-paced, high-growth businesses
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (advantageous)
