Maths Teacher – Specialist Secondary Setting – Havant – September Start We are working closely with a specialist secondary provision in the Havant area that is looking to appoint a Maths Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis from September. This is a school that supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), alongside some pupils with learning difficulties and disrupted educational backgrounds. As such, the role is very much about building relationships, adapting teaching approaches, and re-engaging students with maths in a way that feels accessible and relevant. The school has invested heavily in its staffing structure, with strong support in place in every classroom, including experienced Learning Support Assistants and pastoral teams. Class sizes are smaller than mainstream, allowing for a more tailored and focused approach to teaching. This would suit a teacher who is: Confident teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 Able to differentiate effectively for a wide range of abilities Calm, consistent and able to build strong relationships with pupils Open to working in a setting where behaviour and engagement can be part of the challenge, but also the reward The role will involve: Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons adapted to individual needs Working closely with support staff to maximise pupil progress Supporting students to rebuild confidence in education Managing behaviour through consistency, routine and positive reinforcement The leadership team are supportive and realistic, with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and retention.
