Role Arrangements:

1. 18 Month Apprenticeship with Iron Mountain in collaboration with Riverside College.

2. Salary will be minimum wage along with benefits received via Iron Mountain.

3. Office base - Hinton House - () with occasional travel to other sites in Cumbria and Scotland.

4. Working Pattern - Monday - Friday 07.30 - 15.30 - with fortnightly attendance to Riverside College on a Friday.

5. Mentorship Support - Records Team Leader and PMO Project Manager and Graduate.

6. Security Clearance Vetting will be required (BPSS).

Objectives of the role:

An exciting opportunity for a proactive individual to join Iron Mountain’s contract with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has arisen to support key business administration activities within operational and project teams.

The role will provide experience in the following ares:

7. Use of IT systems such as Microsoft and Google.

8. Stakeholder management.

9. Maintaining documentation in line with GDPR and ISO requirements.

10. Business communication techniques such as reports, emails, and in person and virtual meetings.

11. Peer to peer shadowing of projects and operations.

12. Undertaking key learning modules as provided by Iron Mountain such as code of ethics.

Role experience over 18 Months :

Project Management Office (0 - 3 months)

13. Work within the PMO and support Project Managers with stakeholder meetings via minute taking and document management.

14. Learn about PMO templates such as risks, issues and decisions and support maintaining their relevance.

15. Exposure to customer reports and support Business Analysts with gathering data essential to report production.

16. Organisation of core programme tracking spreadsheets which monitor time, cost and quality of projects.

17. Gain understanding of the project lifecycle within the PMO (initiation to closure).

Operational Delivery (3 - 6 months)

18. Work with record administrators and team leaders to understand records retention schedules.

19. Checking records to determine what process needs to be followed - such as priage, scanning and quality checks.

20. Decision making on records being either retained, shredded or considered by the client for corrective action.

21. Learn about operational processes such as warehouse logistics and deliveries of records.

22. Support material orders such as stationary.

After the first 6 months within Iron Mountain understanding the business the apprentice will be able to liaise with their mentors to identify what aspects of the business they would like to focus on for the remaining year of their apprenticeship.

24. Good understanding of the English language and basic financial acumen.

29. Adherence to confidentiality and professional conduct.
