What is the Job Function As a Mechanic Youth Trainer, based at Kibble’s Skills Academy in Hillington, you will take the lead in supporting young people to gain experience and knowledge in Mechanics. You will also be responsible for providing full servicing, repairs and valeting for Kibble vehicles as well as external customers. Main Duties To carry out services and repairs to MOT standard. Diagnosing problems with vehicles and performing maintenance and repair work. To provide and supervise a valeting service. Assisting with insurance claims and vehicle estimates. Liaising with external customers. To provide instruction in Mechanics. To maintain and promote positive work ethics and standards amongst young people. To safeguard the health and safety of all young people and staff. Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager. What Qualifications and experience are we looking for? Mechanic with minimum SVQ 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or other relevant qualifications. 5 years’ experience required in all aspects of mechanical repair. Strong mechanical knowledge in repair and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret schematics, with some electrical skills. Experience in youth training is desirable. Ability to work to deadlines/time scales. Awareness and understanding of health and safety. Excellent communication skills. Ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people.
