Key responsibilities of the Sous Chef will include: Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring consistency and quality Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they follow best practices Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost control Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a clean and organised workspace Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Act as Head Chef in their absence The Ideal Sous Chef: Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role Assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and design of all food menus Producing high quality plates both design and taste wise Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess individual team members performance Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and grasp control of any problematic situation Culinary degree or relevant certification Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and principles Leadership and team management skill Excellent communication and organisational skills Ability to work in a high-pressure kitchen environment Creativity and passion for food Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimises waste Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards Benefits: Hotel Accommodation, Food, Golf & Spa discounts Friends and family discounts Recommend a Friend Free on-site parking Complimentary use of Leisure Facilities Employee Assistance Programme
