About the Company:

Robert Lickley Refractories is entering its 55 th year of UK industrial manufacturing based from its established home in Dudley, West Midlands. It has a heritage and history of success in the UK steel sector specialising in refractory products for an enviable range of longstanding clients.

As a recognised leader in the advancement of the Thermal industry it specialises in monolithic and precast refractory products and is proud to be part of the UK Steel Charter, with a focus on responsible sourcing, investment in domestic supply chains and British manufacturing.

With a loyal, expert workforce it has ambitious plans for future growth and development and to this end has recently invested further in its energy efficient processes, material optimisation and waste reduction leading the way in its sector.

This growth is set to continue at pace with people and organisational development targets and a range of innovation and expansion initiatives, as the business never sits on its laurels and has a new R&D lab developing, testing and evolving products daily.

About the Role:

The Business Development Manager is a new role for Robert Lickley Refractories – aimed at providing a dedicated focus and leadership of the New Business agenda for the company. It signals the company’s ongoing investment and commitment to creating an evolving business which is at the forefront of its sector providing innovative client solutions within the thermal industry.

The focus of the role embraces accountability for driving B2B sales growth across the UK.

The key responsibilities include:-

·Develop and execute strategic growth plans

·Identify new business opportunities and market trends

·Build and strengthen client relationships

·Collaborate with internal teams to maximise and leverage market trends, developments and opportunities

* Win and grow key accounts, focused on a partnership model creating long-term value for both sides
* Collaborate across departments to bring new ideas to life and shape our product offering

You’ll be the Champion of Sales, Business Development and insights within the organisation and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation.

About You:

You’ll need to demonstrate a proven track record in building sales pipeline in the steel industry – not necessarily thermal but associated products.

To deliver this with success, you’ll be adept at influencing senior management and exceptionally skilled in engaging with customers and building relationships at all levels of the organisation. You will also be up for a challenge, unafraid of breaking new ground and bring a passion and commitment that will inspire others.

In particular, you must bring:

* Five year plus track record of success in sales or business development in any refractories sector
* Evidence of development of successful sales strategies into long term major accounts delivering mutual benefits in the steel or associated sectors
* Deep technical and customer knowledge of your industry with a curiosity to explore opportunities
* A proactive mindset and a hunger to do more than just hit targets
* A desire to help build something, not just manage what’s already there

In addition, we are looking for someone with the personality and drive to build strong business relationships at all levels across the organisation with the energy and drive to make a difference.
