The opportunity
This is a fantastic role to join us at the beginning of Roar’s history as we're looking for we’re looking for an Operations Manager, to be a driving force in maximizing efficiency and profitability, while ensuring Roar is a great place to work and delivers award winning work for our clients.
This is a hands-on, proactive role managing the operational functions of the agency focused on workflows, innovation and integration with the wider VCCP Group. You will be involved in critical agency projects, including the delivery of our AI agenda, as well as improving our processes, tools and systems.
You will also be involved in shaping a strong, high performance culture. Working closely with the Director of Operations, the role is integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the agency. It requires an agile individual who can learn quickly and roll their sleeves up across a wide range of tasks, to help the Exec Board roll-out vital business initiatives.
In return, you’ll get the chance to work alongside a group of talented and dedicated people, in a supportive team structure, as well as colleagues from the wider VCCP partnership (across office support, finance, new biz & marketing, People and recruitment teams, IT and ops).
Key responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Innovation & AI
* Be an instrumental driving force in the delivery of our AI ambitions, by co-ordinating specialist expertise to create AI solutions that will increase productivity and realise efficiencies. Then, work with leaders to implement and measure their impact.
* Partner with the Head of Strategy & Innovation to identify, test and roll out new tools and AI technology
* Build strong relationships with group counterparts to identify existing AI tools that could be beneficial to Roar and operationalise within our agency
* Work with the Ops Director to develop and support key strategic initiatives, acting as project manager for the annual business plan, breaking down objectives and driving collaborative delivery across the agency
Systems, process and tools
* Understand the key agency processes and systems and be instrumental in improving these in order to deliver efficiency gains
* Evaluate agency suppliers, maintain renewals and identify new ones (working with Group procurement partner)
Management information
* Become a point of contact for the Group ERP system, extracting MI to help make decisions.
* Utilise Group performance reporting tools for resourcing utilisation, billability and capacity planning, to inform people planning decisions
* Work with finance team to process business costs
Culture
* Partner with leadership to foster a positive, high-performance agency culture
* Support founders to deliver agency internal comms
Office management
* Lead on delivering a productive and enjoyable office environment, acting as the key point of contact with Group office support and IT.
