The opportunity
We are looking for a Head of Planner Talent Management to join our team and be responsible for the training and development of all Financial Planners. You will ensure our Planner community develop and maintain the knowledge and skills needed throughout their careers.
You will provide structured, engaging and effective career development pathways, enhance the essential and technical knowledge and skills levels, and accelerate the practical application of learning to complement the undertaking of professional qualifications.

We are seeking someone who has gained similar experience training and developing Financial Planners, who is a role model with a strong ability to lead, inspire, and motivate. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working both autonomously when needed, as well as working collaboratively and sharing knowledge with others.
What you will do
* Ensure that the Planner training and development pathways maintain robust processes and helps Associate Financial Planners achieve their highest potential.
* Work in conjunction with the Advisory Services Management team to ensure the most successful start to their journey by ensuring a detailed programme of support and training is in place.
* Work closely with the Talent and T&C teams to ensure effective recruitment.
* Identify and propose new efficiencies and opportunities for improvement, ensuring the pathways effectiveness, levels of compliance and future expansion into other business areas.
* Ensure all Planners are provided with the access to development tools including materials, mentoring, shadowing, and skill’s training to set them up for success in their training and their roles.
* Develop clear and engaging pathways for all Professional Advisers and associates.
* Undertake and work with the Advisory Services Management team to deliver proposition training and development to new and existing Financial Planners. Proposition training will include current propositions and pricing, but also new proposition launches and developments.
* Work with Learning and Development to identify and deliver skills-based training to equip Planners to be effective in their roles and be able to support and represent the Progeny brand.
* Become the champion and promote the programme both internally and externally.
* Work with others to support Progeny’s aspirations to maintain Chartered status.
* Encourage a culture of ethical behaviour, duty of care and treating customers fairly at all times.
About you
To thrive in the role, you will be/have:
* Experience of running a similar programme and providing training and development to Financial Planners.
* Diploma in Financial Planning or Regulated Financial Planning with an industry recognised supervision qualification being desirable.
* An industry recognised pension planning/transfer and mortgage advice qualification is desirable.
* Strong compliance and regulation experience within financial advice.
* Experience of overseeing the application of policies and procedures.
* A comprehensive understanding and knowledge of regulatory rules, particularly relating to risk and governance and relevant legislation.
* Good understanding and application of the FCA Handbook, particularly Conduct of Business and TC Handbooks.
* High personal integrity with strong interpersonal skills, and comfortable communicating and building relationships across all areas of the business.
* Possess high attention to detail and focus, with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
* Excellent challenging and probing skills with the ability to influence and negotiate where appropriate.
* The ability to adapt quickly to change in regulation, legislation or business direction.
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt and tailor information to the audience and present complex information in an accessible form.
* Flexible and responsive with the ability to work well under pressure with minimal or no supervision and maintain team engagement and productivity.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other colleagues and leaders, and a willingness to learn and share information and best practice.
Location
This position will be based at our office in Leeds. We operate hybrid working enabling home and office working, allowing you to balance your personal responsibilities/interests and connecting with your colleagues.
