Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

Who You Will Be Supporting? The people we support in this service are aged from 26 to over 50. This service offers a range of support from mainly Autism & Learning Difficulties. We have 12 apartments in the building and support our service users to live as independently as possible. We have a team of support worker from all different backgrounds, some have many years of experience in Health & Social Care and some that came to us with absolutely no experience at all. All we ask is that you are kind, compassionate and willing to learn. Everything else we are happy to train you in.

We celebrate the individuality of each person that lives here, whether that person enjoys spending time in the garden or the communal lounge engaging with others or enjoying quiet time in the sensory room. We encourage our residents that enjoy doing different activities such as going shopping, going for meals and coffee to participate in community activates. Some of the activities you may be required to participate in include puzzles, crafts, singing and going for walk or days out. Supporting and encouraging our residents to try new things. Our residents enjoy having staff with them who are outgoing, kind, caring, friendly and have the ability to think outside of the box.

20. Other Information

21. We currently have 14 staff on during the daytime and 5 at night time. However, you may to worked individually to support our residents in their own flats. We over various shifts from long days, shorter days and waking nights with the odd sleep in.
