Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic
Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on.
What you’ll get
* Competitive salary: £48,720 basic salary, with the opportunity to earn up to £54,000
* Weekly variety: You’ll work on average 40 hours per week across the year, with your roster seven days in advance and core working hours confirmed three days prior
* Thrive outside of 9-5: Shifts will fall between 06:00 and 02:00, and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Role expectations
* You’re more than a mechanic. You’re a problem solver, a people person, and an ambassador for the RAC. You stay calm under pressure, connect quickly with members, and are confident in your craft
* You embrace flexibility. You’ll diagnose faults, handle flat tyres or flat batteries, manage your own kit, keep your van stocked, and complete reports with precision
* You know how to read a situation. You’ll make the call on fixes, support each member, and keep everyone moving
What you’ll need
* A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrable technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
* A customer-focused approach
* A full UK driving licence
* Flexibility to work at relatively short notice and openness to travel with overnight stays, if necessary
