Salary: £117,000 - 123,500 per year Requirements: Strong JavaScript testing experience, ideally with Playwright for test automation Strong experience testing Java-based systems, including API and integration testing across backend services Experience using TypeScript for scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks Experience testing multi-channel messaging systems, including SMS, email, and alerting workflows Experience testing complex, event-driven systems with webhook/API integrations, decisioning logic, and high-availability architectures, including failover and multi-channel delivery scenarios Experience within messaging, communications, or alerting platforms, such as telecoms, critical communications, or real-time notification systems, is a nice to have Responsibilities: Define and implement a robust end-to-end testing strategy Work closely with engineering and product leadership in a fast-paced, start-up-feel environment Bring structure and maturity to a fragmented testing landscape Establish a cohesive end-to-end strategy across complex, multi-channel, highly integrated systems Connect Playwright, system integration testing, UAT, functional testing, UI testing, and API testing into a proper end-to-end approach Reduce gaps and inconsistency across testing types Improve documentation around user journeys, acceptance criteria, and customer-facing content Align testing to achieve product-focused business outcomes Technologies: API Backend Java JavaScript Playwright TypeScript UX UI Design Frontend More: We are a UK-based critical communications provider whose technology supports real-time messaging and alerting systems used by major data centre operators, large-scale healthcare organisations, and emergency services. This is a hands-on contract role with strategic influence, offered as an immediate start, fully remote, for 3 months initially, at a day rate of £450-475 per day outside IR35.
