About the role
SZC is owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG, through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The shareholders' investments will evolve over time. The company is responsible for designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and decommissioning the Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk, including related infrastructure such as hydrogen, direct air capture, and desalination activities.
The current development phase focuses on completing the Capital Raise Plan, including equity and debt financing, securing core supply chain contracts, and obtaining necessary regulatory permits and licenses. Prior to the government investment decision, SZC was part of EDF's Nuclear Development business, staffed by EDF colleagues and contractors transferring to SZC employment. The organization aims to deliver a new nuclear power plant, leveraging EDF's UK nuclear capabilities.
Key stakeholders include the UK Government, relevant departments, EDF, investors, regulators, partners, and local communities.
