A rare opportunity has arisen for a part-time team manager role in Environment and Transport. The role is for 2 days per week and will be a job share with the current team manager providing an excellent learning and development opportunity as well as the chance to shape the future of the service as it continues to evolve. The role will lead the team that develops and manages the department’s key systems ensuring they drive and support customer focused, effective business processes.
About the Role
The role works across the department providing strategic and technical expertise to senior managers, colleagues at all levels of the organisation, elected members and partners.
You will directly manage some of our key departmental systems whilst also providing technical support and guidance such as how systems can be used to improve processes and customer service, procurement and provision of data and reports to drive service improvement.
You will have the vision to identify and develop new initiatives and the skills to manage and implement them making a positive difference to the efficiency of our services and therefore for our residents.
You will have experience of managing a portfolio of projects with a knowledge of project management principles. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with diverse priorities.
This post is politically restricted therefore the post holder is disqualified from undertaking certain political activities under the Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
1. Have experience of delivering system support, data management and of managing a high performing support service team
2. Have knowledge of highways maintenance, legislation, regulations and policy
3. Technical systems knowledge
4. Have a successful track record of managing and delivering projects
5. Have strong analytical skills, problem solving and managing change
6. Have the ability to build relationships, work at all levels in the organisation and communicate effectively ideally in a political environment
