Are you someone wanting to take advantage of this exceptional Business Administrator Apprenticeship opportunity with our Skills Centre Plus business in Scunthorpe.

Kick‑start your career as a Business Administrator Apprentice! Join our Engagement & Experience Team and be the friendly face of our service—supporting events, promoting opportunities, keeping systems organised, and helping learners succeed. You’ll earn a Level 3 qualification with one of our college partners while building skills in communication, IT, organisation, and problem‑solving. If you’re a people person with energy to spare, this is your chance to grow and make an impact!

What you'll learn and skills you'll gain whilst being awesome in this role:

1. How businesses work & manage change
2. Building strong relationships with people & partners
3. Key policies like safeguarding & GDPR
4. Data, finance & project basics
5. Confident communication & customer service
6. IT know‑how with Microsoft Office & digital tools
7. Event planning & project support
8. Problem‑solving, organisation & decision‑making

A full Job description is attached but in short, here are some of the Key responsibilities of this role:

9. Welcome visitors and manage front‑of‑house smoothly
10. Handle enquiries, calls, and parent/carer communications
11. Build relationships with learners, partners, and local groups
12. Support and coordinate events, trips, and activities
13. Promote services through social media and marketing materials
14. Keep records, registers, and data accurate and up to date
15. Assist with finance tasks like orders and petty cash
16. Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up actions
17. Work collaboratively, suggest improvements, and provide general admin support

What we need from you to be considered for this fantastic opportunity:

18. Friendly, confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
19. Well-organised with excellent attention to detail.
20. Interest in administration, events, marketing or community engagement.
21. Willingness to learn, take initiative and complete apprenticeship requirements.
22. Ability to work positively within a team environment.


And this will make you stand out from the crowd, but don't worry if you don't have this experience:

23. Previous experience in administration or customer-facing roles.
24. Familiarity with social media platforms or marketing tasks.
25. Interest in supporting learners, education or community development.
26. Ability to deal with challenging behaviour at times
27. An understanding of the different local services available for learners
28. You’re interested in supporting the wider team with our wellbeing activities, learning opportunities or employment support – and have some skills to offer in this area
