PS219348 Haematology / Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner B7 or trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner B6 (2 x 25 hour posts)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Advanced Nurse Practitioners (25 hours x 2) to lead the specialist Haematology / Oncology Spey Unit in Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin. This is an outpatient service, which currently delivers a nurse – led Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Service. The successful post holders will undertake holistic pre-assessment of patients, prescribe oral and systemic chemotherapy, support and oversee the nurses delivering treatments, whilst ensuring the safe delivery of evidence-based treatment. Clinical support is available from the haematology/oncology multidisciplinary team based in Aberdeen, pharmacy colleagues in both Aberdeen and Elgin, as well as from the Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Elgin.
Applications from qualified ANPs wishing to develop specialist skills in haematology/oncology will be considered for the qualified B7 post. They must provide a portfolio of evidence demonstrating their clinical skills and development in their Advanced Practice role, mapping to the four pillars of advanced practice.
We would also welcome applications from nurses with haematology/oncology experience wishing to develop advanced practice skills as a trainee ANP (B6), progressing to Band 7 on completion of essential training requirements.
A non-medical prescribing qualification is an essential requirement for all applicants, with evidence of a minimum of two year prescribing experience.
Candidates who do not have an ANP qualification would be offered a Band 6 Trainee ANP role, and temporary flexibility to work more than 25 hours/week to meet training requirements for the role.
