Project Engineer - Water Industry - (Mechanical or Electrical)
GRS are seeking a Project Engineer with mechanical and/or electrical experience to manage engineering schemes and maintenance works across water and non-infrastructure projects. The role covers everything from client liaison and design coordination to site installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities

Scope works and produce estimates in collaboration with clients and internal teams
*
Oversee project delivery including design reviews, site visits, installation, and commissioning
*
Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including reviewing quotes and approving H&S documentation
*
Produce and implement pre-construction, commissioning, and handover plans
*
Coordinate technical meetings with clients, consultants, and design teams
*
Ensure accurate record-keeping, including drawings, O&M manuals, and project documentation
*
Prepare and submit quotations, HSEQ paperwork, and progress updates to clients
*
Support training programmes and contribute to a positive safety culture on-site
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
*
Mechanical or Electrical Project Engineering experience
*
HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
*
CSCS Gold Card & SMSTS
*
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
*
NVQ or equivalent in core trade
*
Background in water/utilities projects
*
Familiarity with commissioning, O&M documentation, and subcontractor management
