Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to work with Energy on the Norwich to Tilbury scheme, as part of our delivery of the Great Grid partnership (GGP).
The project is currently mobilising teams to support early works, including DCO support, ahead of site commencement in mid-2027. The works are split between our regional office in Stone Cross (Warrington), with GGP support in Birmingham and working with the client based in Bury St Edmunds. Once mobilised, teams will be based on site around Colchester and Braintree. Construction is planned from mid-2027 to mid-2031.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Project Manager:
1. Be fully accountable for project delivery, ensuring safety, timeliness, contract compliance, and budget adherence.
2. Manage and coordinate project delivery across multiple disciplines.
3. Set project standards and ensure requirements are met.
4. Identify and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
5. Plan, review, and deliver contract programmes.
6. Manage Project, Construction Site, and Engineering Managers.
7. Maintain effective client relationships and update stakeholders on progress.
8. Ensure operational plans include sufficient resources and materials.
9. Resolve operational issues, escalating critical issues to the Project Director.
10. Oversee all commercial activities, including gross margin, cost control, and financial metrics.
11. Manage subcontractors to meet performance and financial targets.

* HNC / HND or NVQ Level 5 (or Degree).
* Experience with complex multi-discipline enhancement projects, delivering on programme and within budget.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
