Rydings Hall Surgery is seeking a motivated andpatient centred Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team on afixed-term basis under the GP Reimbursement Scheme.This is an excitingopportunity to work within a well-established with a collaborative clinicalculture and strong multidisciplinary support.
This is a temporary position for a salaried GP, 4 sessionsper week, until 31st March 2027. The working days would be Thursday and Friday.
We are looking for a GP who values continuity of care,teamwork, and delivering high quality patient care within a sustainable andsupportive practice environment.
We welcome applications from experienced GPs as well asnewly qualified GPs who are enthusiastic about working in a rewarding primarycare setting.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will undertake a range of routinegeneral practice duties including face-to-face and telephone consultations,clinical administration, prescription management, and the review of pathologyand radiology results associated with patient care.
The GP will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinaryteam including pharmacists, nursing staff, healthcare assistants, andadministrative colleagues. Participation in clinical meetings and practicedevelopment activities will be encouraged.

Rydings Hall Surgery is a well-established, supportive GPpractice in the heart of Brighouse. Rydings Hall Surgery is a busy 4 GP PartnerNHS practice serving a patient population of around 8,000.
We have a strong multidisciplinary team including GPs, ANPs,nurses, pharmacists, healthcare assistants, and experienced administrativestaff. The practice uses EMIS Web and works closely with our wider Primary CareNetwork colleagues and community services.

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a widerange of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standardsof care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities
- In accordance with the practice timetable, asagreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a varietyof duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries,visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions anddealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions inrelation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from otherhealth care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients withundifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors andearly signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line withcurrent practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and fromthe caseload and referring them to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultationnotes to agreed standards
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acuteand repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions wheneverpossible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practiceprescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general, the post-holder will be expected toundertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GPworking within primary care.

Person Specification
Experience
- Clinical Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working as a GP within NHS primary care.
- Ability to manage a diverse clinical caseload autonomously, making safe, evidence-based clinical decisions under standard time pressures.
- Strong competence in standard primary care software systems (e.g., EMIS Web, SystmOne) and digital triage tools (e.g. PATCHS).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapid, trusting relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Adaptability & Teamwork:
- Ability to integrate quickly and smoothly into an existing practice team and adapt to established local clinical protocols.
- Commitment to maintaining clear, accurate, and contemporaneous clinical notes to ensure seamless continuity of care during the cover period.
- Workflow Efficiency:
- Experience managing digital workflows efficiently, including processing pathology results, clinical correspondence, and repeat prescriptions.
- Experience utilising electronic consultation templates to ensure high-quality QOF (Quality and Outcomes Framework) and IIF data capture.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified GP with a primary medical qualification (MBChB, MBBS, or equivalent).
- On the GMC GP Register with a current, unrestricted license to practice.
- Currently included on the NHS England National Medical Performers List.
- Evidence of current, up-to-date CPR and safeguarding training (Level 3 for Children and Adults).
- Full, appropriate medical indemnity insurance cover (MDU, MPS, or equivalent).
- Local Knowledge & Enhanced Skills:
- Familiarity with local referral pathways, community services, and prescribing formularies within the local Integrated Care System (ICS).
- Experience or specific training in specialised areas that add immediate value (e.g., minor surgery, joint injections, or LARC fitting).
