Joining the School Transport Services team as a Passenger Assistant Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of passenger assistance for students. You will lead, support, and develop a dedicated workforce, championing best practices in safeguarding, compliance, and service excellence.
What you’ll do:
1. Lead, support, and manage our Passenger Assistant team to ensure safe, consistent, and high‑quality transport service.
2. Act as a key point of contact for Passenger Assistants, parents, drivers, and operators, managing enquiries and building strong working relationships.
3. Support safeguarding, incident, and accident investigations, ensuring student welfare and high standards of health and safety.
4. Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and compliance for Passenger Assistants.
5. Provide effective day‑to‑day line management, including welfare checks, sickness management, and offboarding processes.
6. Resolve operational issues promptly, collaborating with internal teams and maintaining accurate records to support smooth service delivery.
7. Act as an escalation point for operational issues, working closely with commissioning and triage teams to resolve challenges efficiently.

10. Skilled in delivering effective training and managing, remote teams, ensuring clear communication, engagement, and high-quality performance.

12. Experience managing sensitive information in line with data protection requirements.
13. Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data management systems.
14. Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
15. The ability to work under pressure, multitask effectively, and manage competing priorities.
