* Location: Rural Lancaster Primary School, accessible from Lancaster, Morecambe, and near M6
* Job Type: Part-time (Mornings only, 08:45 – 12:30)
We are seeking a dedicated Y6 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at a rural primary school. This role involves working part-time with a focus on supporting a child with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, alongside general class TA duties. This position is ideal for someone who values building strong relationships with pupils and is looking for flexible part-time hours.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Provide targeted support to a child with SEMH needs, helping them to engage effectively in learning.
* Perform general classroom duties, assisting the teacher in creating a supportive learning environment.
* Develop and maintain strong, supportive relationships with pupils.
* Adapt to varying classroom needs and pupil behaviours, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
* Collaborate with teaching staff and specialists to implement educational plans tailored to individual student needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, particularly in supporting children with SEMH needs.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
* Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom setting.
* Commitment to the development and education of children.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
