Senior Environmental Manager
We are searching for an experienced Senior Environmental Manager at our Bristol Temple Quay facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
RPS is looking for a Senior Environmental Manager to join our Environment & Infrastructure Team. You'll be leading the management and delivery of key projects across the UK and helping clients manage and obtain environmental consents for national infrastructure schemes and renewable energy projects.
What you’ll be doing
As a key position, you will facilitate the integration of consents and consenting activities into project delivery, across design, assessment and construction. You will work with clients in meetings and workshops, provide advice on consent applications or compliance, and collaborate with environmental teams on delivery programmes and schedules. You may serve as project manager or director, acting as the main client point of contact, managing stakeholder interfaces, and responsible for the financial performance of your projects.
Key responsibilities
* Lead projects from the front, demonstrating strong organisational and communication skills.
* Apply extensive knowledge of environmental requirements during major development and infrastructure projects in the UK.
* Ensure deliverables for post‑planning consent and detail design and construction stages.
* Manage consents under hybrid bills, DCO, TWA and TCPA planning regimes.
* Represent the environmental team as the primary project point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in an environmental or related subject; an MSc or professional qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Proven experience leading environmental aspects of development projects, particularly in the construction sector.
* Strong knowledge of UK environmental consent processes.

Salary
Permanent • Annual Salary: £55,000.00 – £65,000.00
