We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Coordinator in Thirsk to support a busy manufacturing/production environment on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on, site-based role responsible for supporting day-to-day health & safety compliance, assisting with audits, maintaining documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture across operations. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract of up to 6 months, working full-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support implementation and maintenance of health & safety procedures across site operations
2. Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
3. Conduct routine site inspections and report findings with corrective actions
4. Maintain accurate H&S records, documentation, and compliance logs
5. Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions
6. Help coordinate safety training and toolbox talks
7. Promote awareness of safe working practices across teams
8. Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations

Key Skills & Experience
15. Previous experience in a Health & Safety or compliance-related role
16. Working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice
17. Ability to carry out risk assessments and site inspections
18. Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
19. Confident communicator across all levels of a business
20. NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) desirable but not essential
21. Proactive, practical approach to problem-solving in operational environments
22. Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
