Open/Speculative Application - Engine Programmer
For 30 years we've been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. Rebellion is more than just games—we have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD publish comics and graphic novels such as Judge Dredd. We are looking for an experienced Engine Programmer to join our team and contribute to multiple ambitious, unannounced projects in development.
Join our exceptional engine team and help shape the technical foundation of our projects. We utilise a proprietary, cross-platform engine and welcome experience across a diverse array of engine systems, including but not limited to: animation, AI, audio, build and automation, networking, and rendering.
Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of our engine systems across multiple disciplines (animation, AI, audio, build/automation, networking, rendering).
* Work in C++ on large codebases within cross-disciplinary teams to drive robust, scalable engine features.
* Collaborate with teams to integrate new technologies and optimize performance for cross-platform targets.
* Provide innovative solutions to complex problems with minimal guidance.
Qualifications
* Proven history that encompasses at least one shipped title.
* Strong experience in the PC/console games industry, ideally with a focus on engine programming.
* Advanced knowledge of C++.
* In-depth knowledge of system design and 3D mathematics.
* Experience working on large existing codebases and adapting to new processes or pipelines.
* Ability to resolve a diverse range of complex problems with minimal assistance.
* Strong understanding of the video game development process.

Location
Opportunity to be based at either Oxford or Warwick studios with relocation support (moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full transition support).
