We have two exciting opportunities to join #TeamEMR as a Retail Accounts Clerk— one on a 6-month fixed-term contract and the other on a permanent basis.
The Retail Accounts Clerk is expected to maintain consistent checking regimes according to Rail Delivery Group guidelines to ensure errors are dealt with efficiently and correctly. You would be based at Leicester station but may be required to travel to other locations across our networks to complete audit work.
The Retail Accounts Clerk will:-
1. Be responsible for maintaining the accounts of all Ticket Offices, Travel Centres, and On Train Retail operated by East Midlands Railway, including TVM and Car Park revenue.
2. Maintain an efficient continuous audit process for all Travel Centres, Ticket Offices, and On Train Retail operated by East Midlands Railway.
3. Ensure adherence to all EMR policies, including refunds, banking of cash, emptying of TVMs and Car Parks, Non-Issue compliance, and PCIDSS regulations.
4. Highlight irregularities and instances of fraud to the Retail Compliance Manager, investigate such issues, and address any discovered weaknesses.
5. Visit Ticket Offices and Travel Centres regularly to carry out Station Audits, ensuring procedures are followed correctly at all locations, and report findings to the Retail Compliance Manager and Customer Experience teams.
6. Have a good knowledge of Retail Accounting Systems, preferably within the Railway Industry, and a working knowledge of basic financial accounting.
It would be advantageous to have experience with Microsoft Office packages, especially Word and Excel, as well as systems like Fujitsu STAR, S&B TVMs, and Worldline Envoy.
We also seek candidates with strong communication skills, good organization, and the ability to work independently. A keen eye for detail, investigative skills, objectivity, and diligence are essential for this role.
